Abstract

Vajpayee had a great believe in human equality but also an expression of his belief that it is man’s humanity that makes him worthy to be called a man. Man’s identity cannot be perceived in terms of his social status or physical stature. Man can be recognized only as man, as distinct from other forms of creation. For the poet the place where a man stands does not matter. It does not determine his human stature. Thus, a man may stand anywhere, he may occupy any space it will not be a factor in determining his human worth or achievement. What really matters is the standard or quality of space that he occupies.
