Abstract

The present study aims to make an elucidation of the induced shear stress in the arterial wall during pulsatile flow of blood. The wall shear stress indicates the force exerted by the wall onto the fluid in tangential direction. With this end in view time periodic change of wall shear stress is determined by varying the Darcy number. Second grade viscoelastic model is considered with a view to built a mathematical model that may express the nature of blood in a more realistic way.
